The weather co-operated at Lanna for the annual scramble and the competition was fierce. Eight teams turned out and everyone showed up and were on time Thank You.
Only seven strokes separated the field from last place to the winners. The winning team of Gary W, Ric C, Nige J, & Kieran had a gross score of 73 as did the team of Yung, Jack, Kim, & Dao. When the team handicaps were deducted Gary W's team was declared the winner on the basis of an 11 handicap for a net 62 versus Yung's team who had a 10 handicap for a net 63. Also tied for second with a net 63. was the team of Hiro, David S, Roscoe, & Steve Jepson. The Ladies JJ, Ben, Poung, & Junjira in Team Angel took third place with a gross 78 and handicap of 14 for a net 64.
Kieran was a triple winner after coming in first place he also won two prizes for nearest the pin. The other two nearest the pin prizes were won by Steve Jepson, and Shane.
Thank you for the great turnout, the nineteenth hole was most enjoyable especially after Kieran donated one of his prizes for the enjoyment of the group.
Gary L. will be away in Canada Aug 17-Sept 16 and during his absence Gary Walker has graciously agreed to take the Captains Chair at Lanna.

Scramble Rules
Nominations will be accepted at venues from 12th July 2010, from Current Members only, for the August Scramble which will be held at Lanna on Monday 2nd Aug, green fee 500bht including caddy.
It will be an 8:30am tee-off but all nominated teams are to be at the course, registered and green fees paid by 8:00am (Entry fee 200 Baht per person)
All teams will have a handicap which will be deducted from their gross team score at the end of the game to give a net result. The handicap system used will be the Ambrose method for details of this see this link Ambrose Method Handicap
Each player must uset three of his/her drives on the 14 par 4 or 5 holes and indicate on the score card which hole their drive was used. As there are four persons who must count three drives each (12 drives) in a team that will leave two holes/drives for the captain to decide.
The person whose drive is counted must mark his ball with a tee and the other three players must place their ball near the tee to take their teams second shot. The person whose drive was counted cannot play a second shot, it has to be one of the three other players. There is no restriction on third or fourth shots, any team members shot can be counted.
The four par threes have no restrictions. Any team members shot can be counted.
Once you are on the green and the best ball is chosen, it is to be marked and all four players will putt from that position. Each player will putt in turn and once the ball is in the hole that score will be counted. In other words if you putt a ball up to the edge of the hole for one and then tap it in without giving your team mates the chance to one putt then the score stands as two putts. So even if it is on the rim, mark it and give you team mates a chance at a one putt.
Local rules apply for ‘out of bounds’ and ‘lost ball’ all other rules are as per the Royal and Ancient Rules of Golf.
